The smallest India state is Goa. It is in the region known as the Konkan and is located on the west coast of India. The state capital is Panaii and it s largest city is Vasco da Gama. Margao is the second largest and most historic city.
Goa attained it s statehood on 30th May 1987. It is one of India s most laid back destinations. More tourists visit Goa every year then any other destination on the west coast of India
Tourism is the primary industry it handles 12 of all foreign tourist arriving in India. Goa has two main tourist seasons summer and winter. The two renowned traditional markets are Mapusa Market and Anjuna Market. At the Friday Market at Mapusa you get everything from dried fish and spices to curios and old coins. The Wednesday Market at Anjuna Beach offers a unique collection of handicrafts beachwear souvenirs and trinkets sold at bargained prices.
Music is always on hand at the night markets with 4 or 5 acts per night also including magicians jugglers and speciality acts. Goa is the best place in India to visit if you love to fun frolic through the day and the night. Nightlife in is exciting and there are many ways to spark up the evening.
