Singapores largest convention and exhibition venue the Singapore EXPO boasts 100000 square metres of indoor floor space which extends across 10 halls. Funded by the governments Trade Ministry the venue was built and is managed by the PSA Corporation.

Built near Simei and Tanah Merah in Singapores east side the structure cost S 220 million to build. It is also claimed that the centre is not only one of the largest it is also one of the most technically equipped centres in the whole of Asia. The centre consists of halls where each of the rooms is 10000 square metres in size and provides a total floor area of over 100000 square metres.

The halls can house from 150 to a 1000 people in addition the business rooms can seat 15 to 125 people. The original building of the Singapore Expo consisted of six interconnected halls which were 10000 square metres. Each hall was self contained and connected to other through air conditioned walk ways.The Expo houses a car park for over two thousand cars.

Since the World Trade Centres exhibition space was to be demolished it was necessary to construct a venue which would provide adequate space indoors. This necessity gave birth to the idea of constructing the Expo. The construction of the first phase of the building began in 1997 and the structure was declared open in 1999.
